Dadasaheb faced struggles from a young age. After completing his education up to the 10th standard in a small village, he found a job earning Rs. 80 per day. Initially, he hesitated, and he struggled to make ends meet. But Shark gave him confidence, and then Dadasaheb started talking about his own business. Dadasaheb, a 10th-grade pass, used to work as a laborer. Starting his own company from being a janitor in an Infosys office was not something anyone could have imagined. Dadasaheb’s pitch on Season 3 of Shark Tank India moved everyone to tears.
Earning Rs. 80 per day
Dadasaheb had to work hard to earn Rs. 80 per day. He had to work as a dirt carrier to earn his daily wage. Sometimes he had to sweep the office as well. Dadasaheb was born in Beed in 1994. He wanted his parents to stop working as laborers. The financial situation at home was very difficult. Dadasaheb had no other option but to drop out of school after the 10th grade due to family responsibilities. To support the family, he started digging wells and carrying dirt, earning Rs. 80 per day.
Earning Rs. 9,000 as a laborer
Even while working as a laborer, Dadasaheb understood the importance of education. He knew that education could change his fate. In 2009, Dadasaheb got a job at Infosys in Chennai. From providing tea and water to office staff to sweeping floors, tying wires, and cleaning, he did all kinds of work. He never told his family that he was working as a laborer. He used to earn Rs. 9,000 per month at Infosys. He saw people earning lakhs by working on computers and decided to learn. He started learning computers and eventually became proficient in computer graphics and animation.
Friendship with Technology
Gradually, Dadasaheb learned technical details related to technology. He wanted to work at night and practice coding, graphic design, and animation during the day. He even took courses in C++ and Python. He learned graphics, VFX, and motion graphics. With this knowledge, he got a job in a big company. However, things took a sudden turn when Dadasaheb met with an accident. He had to give up everything and return to his village.
Designing Templates for His Company
Dadasaheb went back to his village with a laptop borrowed from a friend. He started creating templates on the laptop. From there, he envisioned a unique business. He started selling his templates online. Dadasaheb designed templates for his own company and started selling graphical templates on their platform. He established two companies named Ninethmotion and Dugraphics. Today, their company’s valuation has reached 10 crores.
Turning 2.5% Equity into 1 Crore
In Shark Tank, Dadasaheb demanded 1 crore for 2.5% equity in his company. Co-founder Aman Gupta agreed to give him a 10% stake in their company for 1 crore. Managing a crore-level business from a small village is an almost impossible feat.
